S3 E16: Alex Stojanvoic
Aleksandar Stojanovic (Alex Stoyanovich) is an accomplished music teacher at one of Sydney's most prestigious high schools. He started his music education in Serbia at the age of 7 by having piano and solfege lessons. In 2006, Aleksandar joined a music high school in Belgrade where he received training and education in classical piano performance. During this time, he performed at various national and international competitions and stages, achieving outstanding results as a performer. In 2013, Aleksandar enrolled at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, majoring in piano performance. After 2 years of studying, he transfrred to the music education course where he started developing his passion for teaching and music technology. After completing his music education degree with distinction, Aleksandar assumed a role as a music teacher at North Sydney Girls High School. Here, he influenced music programs of all stages and introduced technology to all of his students. Aleksandar teaches all high school levels and successfully runs multiple ensembles such as the school rock band and two choirs. In 2020, his senior students achieved outstanding performers and composers completing high school in New South Wales to perform at the Sydney Opera House.
