MusicFirst Academy Registration

MusicFirst Academy

At the MusicFirst Academy, music educators at all points in their careers will be able to find relevant and inspiring online, professional development opportunities. The overarching philosophy behind our courses is to provide teachers with chance to learn- developing skills, pedagogical approaches and specific teaching tools- that they can immediately implement in their classrooms.

Course Breadth and Variety

We know that music educators are responsible for teaching everything and anything from beginning to guitar or latin ensemble to middle school chorus and kindergarten general music. Our courses aim to cover a wide breadth of content needs relevant to these settings from assessment strategies to creative composition pedagogies. We also understand that music educators are faced with the challenge of merging new and exciting technologies with traditional music classroom settings. As a result, we offer courses that not only teach you how to use these software tools, but also how to successfully integrate them into creative lesson plans for your students. We plan to regularly expand our course offerings to support your professional needs.

Course Accessibility

Courses are offered in a wide range of credit and non-credit bearing options so whether you are looking for professional development hours, 1 or 3 graduate level credits, there are courses to fill your needs. And, depending on your schedule you can choose to take a completely asynchronous course with rolling registration and the ability to log-on and complete assignments as you wish or, you can take a hybrid course during the fall or spring semesters, logging on for weekly web meetings with your course instructor and other music educators around the world. Payment options include PayPal or a purchase order from your school/district.

Attention NYS Teachers: MusicFirst is now an approved Sponsor of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) pursuant to Section 80-6 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. Any course completed through the MusicFirst Academy will earn you the stated number of professional development hours as CTLE accredited hours.
