Music Education at the Crossroads: The Impact of AI & Technology

Music education is at a very interesting moment in time. In a post-pandemic world, during which music educators were forced to adopt technologies as a way to keep their programs going, we are now faced with the possibilities and unknowns of artificial intelligence (AI). Rather than running away from AI or sticking our heads in the sand, this session will demonstrate how AI can be used as a way to engage our students and help teachers deliver the very best music education experience possible. In addition, a survey of the many existing technologies will be discussed with a focus on how they can be effectively integrated into our instruction.

This interactive session, presented by Dr. Jim Frankel, Founder & Director of MusicFirst and an expert on AIin Music Education, will demonstrate a wide variety of AI-powered tools that focus specifically on improvingall aspects of your musicianship skills. Attendees will be able to play along with some incredibly powerful practice tools and learn some strategies to use AI to help them improve their overall musicianship skills. This session will be eye-opening, fun, and maybe even a little bit scary!
