Summer Teacher Academy 2023: Online Course will be hosted on the MusicFirst Classroom and materials will go live on July 1st, 2023. The primary goal for this course is to think big picture about using technology in the music classroom, with a focus on MusicFirst tools. Every registrant will get free access to the MusicFirst Classroom to allow for hands-on participation, but all lesson planning and brainstorming will apply across any technology use.

Facilitated by Jaye Mateyko, Director of Support and Training at MusicFirst, the online lessons will focus on a three-idea framework for technology use in the music classroom: Skills Assessment, Notation & Worksheets, and Audio Production, Recording & Podcasting. In addition to discussion boards and brainstorming, teachers will create lesson plans within the MusicFirst Classroom leading up to creating a sequenced set of units and lessons as a final project.

This course will have optional office hours to attend and synchronous collaboration sessions but those events will not be required for completing the course.
