MusicFirst Elementary

More content, new features, all year long

MusicFirst Elementary (MFE), the K–5 general music program powered by Charanga, gets a new look on August 7th. The program keeps its song-based teaching approach educators already know, while adding new content, features, and tools — with more to come throughout the year.

What is MusicFirst Elementary?

MFE is a complete K–5 general music program built around a spiral curriculum: musical concepts are revisited in increasingly complex ways as learners progress through the grades. Every unit is song-based, immersing students in a musical style as they sing, play instruments, improvise, compose, and perform.

What's new?

The new-look platform aligns with the National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) and builds on the same trusted curriculum foundation — with a refreshed look and expanded resources.

What it means for teachers

A platform built to evolve

MFE's core day-to-day curriculum stays the same. However, fresh material will be added to the Collections area throughout the year. A scrolling homepage banner will keep educators up to date on what's new — so there's always a reason to log back in.

  • More lesson plan updates.
  • A Help page/FAQ area.
  • Orchestral content.
  • Stories set to music.

Why it matters

This isn't a one-off refresh. MFE is a platform that responds to teacher feedback and continues to evolve.

For schools evaluating a general music curriculum for the 2026–27 school year, that means a program that's ready to use in classrooms from day one and only gets richer from there.

The new-look program launches on Friday, August 7th. Start your free trial at www.musicfirstelementary.com/site/. There's no obligation to subscribe afterwards; we don't take any payment details.
